Sujit Choudhry is the founding Director of The Center for Constitutional Transitions. The organization generates and mobilizes knowledge that is in support of the constitution building process. The organization has a team of leading international constitutional experts who together with other multilateral organizations and think tanks create evidence-based policy options that help decision makers and agenda-setting research. So far the organization has worked in partnership with over 50 constitutional experts from more than 25 countries.
Sujit Choudhry founded the organization to fill the knowledge gap when issues affecting constitution transitions arise. Sujit attributes his success to his immigrant background and law degrees which he acquired from three different universities which are Oxford, Toronto and Harvard. The navigation and studying the law of different countries gave him the skills and expertise to do what he does today. Sujit comes from a family that put more emphasis on education. His parents are both professors.
Sujit Choudhry has worked as a constitutional expert globally, and some of the things he has learned are that one must always be a good listener and responsive to the people on the ground. One also has to be immersed in the environment to view things from a different perspective and lastly one should never assume to know the truth.
Sujit Vision and approach to things have changed over time. He has become more versatile and open to new ideas. Most importantly is that he has been able to learn from his mistakes and through constant reinvention of his goals he has been able to succeed in life. Related article to read here.

Sujit Choudhry is a law professor at the University of California, Berkley School of Law. Sujit has a wide range of experience on constitutional matters and has served as a constitutional advisor to countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Libya, South Africa and Yemen among others.
